I.   Woodworking and Restoration

I currently specialize in Furniture, Window, and Door Restoration, as well as custom furniture, inlays, and sign making. I’m available as a consultant for structural and exterior restoration of wood framed buildings. If it’s wood and can be transported to my shop, I can probably make or repair it. I also have experience with manufacturing wood products, so with many things the more you want the less they cost. Some estimations of cost for various woodworking pieces, as well as hourly for shop time and consulting can be found in V. Prices. Inventors and artists see II. Custom Design and 3D Printing. Examples of work can be found in VII. Photos, as well as at Link 1

II.   Custom Design and 3D Printing.

Two years ago, I started modeling and printing custom 3D parts, molds, and tools for various projects. In the process I’ve become proficient at 3D modeling and printing with ABS plastic. I can print any model smaller than 8” x 10” x 8.8”. For printer specifications see Link 3.
One of the first things I began printing was molds for silicone, in the process I became familiar with several other molding products such as resins, urethanes, and epoxies. As a result, I can produce most small products cast from these materials, as well as mold small objects for replication.
Making unique tools to use in my woodworking and manufacturing required me to become familiar with Fusion 360, an advanced modeling software that can do many fabulous things I don’t yet understand. What I do understand is that when I have an idea for a thing in my head, I can make it real and print it in a relatively efficient manner using this program. If you have an idea for a custom part or model that isn’t freely available online, there’s a chance we could make it a reality.
3D modeling, 3D printing, casting/molding, and woodworking combine to make a formidable creative force. If you would like to give an idea a try, see V. Prices for examples that might apply to your idea, and get in touch.

III.   Work Experience

I have more than a decade of woodworking experience specializing in historic restoration and custom building. I also have more than two years of experience in fine woodworking, inlay, and finishing.

09-19:  My work experience in historic restoration and custom building comes from my time with Older Than Dirt Construction from 2009 to 2019. During that time, I worked on numerous buildings up to 150 years old all over Colorado and built several modern custom buildings and additions. See Link 1 and Photos 1-4 below.

19-Now:  Recent experience has been in more detail-oriented woodworking such as inlay, sign making, and furniture building. I also have been working with other, sometimes related mediums such as epoxy, resin, and silicon. For more details read II. Custom Design and 3D Printing, and see Link 2 and Photos 5-8

*ABS Printing requires a 3D model of the object you would like to print. Acceptable formats, as well as all other constraints, can be found at Link 3, or my 3D Modeling price is listed. If the print fails because of errors in the provided model, the user will still be responsible for the cost of the print.
*ABS Filament is highly varied in quality and price. Due to the potential for inferior plastic to damage the printer, no opened/unverifiable user plastic will be accepted. In other words, if you want to bring your own filament it must be vacuum sealed with label intact. I can order any color or quality of filament as priced online per spool, or in-house filament is priced at $0.06 per gram and can be painted to any color.
